IBAK IKAS: NAVIGATOR
A software solution for sewer TV inspection of the entire house drainage system with automatically generated georeferenced pipe plans.
The IKAS 32 NAVIGATOR is an assistant for the collection of sewer direction changing data during TV inspections. Thanks to the optical analysis of the video picture, instead of the elbow or bend data having to be entered by the operator, only a few quickly placed mouse clicks are required.
With the NAVIGATOR Assistant and the right side up picture from the IBAK cameras, data acquisition is performed without any additional time requirement during the inspection – and this without the operator having to make any individual assessment.
All commonly used code systems (ATV-M143, ISYBAU01, DWA M149-2,...) require this direction data, so up to now it had to be estimated. With the Navigator Assistant, the estimation of this data is replaced by the analysis of the video picture. In addition, the change of direction is not only saved on the clock face scheme (code system with divisions of 15°), but also with a resolution exact to one degree.
The three-dimensional run of the pipe is generated automatically from the direction data acquired in this way. The run of the pipe can be fitted into a plan of the sewer network by means of a georeferenced reference point, thus supplementing the inspection report.
The run of the pipe can be generated in a few steps:
• The operator approaches an elbow or a bend with the
camera
• The camera adjusts automatically to a right side up
picture
• The angle and direction are analysed in the NAVIGATOR
Assistant with a few simple mouse clicks
The IKAS 32 Plan Component then automatically generates the run of the pipe. Its three-dimensional X,Y and Z co-ordinates are saved to the IKAS 32 sewer database and can be transferred directly to any desired GIS databases.
